Child support...

So many social ills society breeds, you can’t find the heart of anything. Child support!! Which fool came up with such a stupid concept? Whereby only one sex (males) pays for the support of the kid, I mean why should I be the sole liable person for what came from two consenting adults. I aint saying that dudes should become dead-beat daddies and what not, but all I’m saying is that this thing should be handled mutually. Please...what about all that jazz about gender equality? Sure the justice system is quick to side with the sistas when it comes to domestic violence ,and I respect that, but when it comes down to the child support its like that whole equality gibberish does not apply!!! Hmmm Did I miss a day in English class somewhere? Because to me the definition of “gender equality” is quite obvious…

Gentleman's affair

Kudos to windhoek lager for snatching Louis Gossett jr. to
do promos for the best beer in all of southern africa. This is definetly a good move in terms of international sales. He Is A well respected actor who has won a supporting actor academy award, and a well-known prominent figure featured in a lot of afro-centric feature films..

Hell..namibia breweries(whk lager especially)has already achieved its goal(in terms of sales in africa) now they are simply expanding their horizons to the world at large..and with Louis Gossett on tv doing promos for this shindig, i'm guessing there's gonna
be a alot of money for Namibia Breweries to squander on competitions for all namibian drunkards marauding the nights of the city that is windhoek..

When the lights go out..

Life Bulb by ~petar5 on deviantART

Electricity!!!damn we are so far up our own asses that we cant seem to manage to live without electricity, what a bunch of panzies!!even with candles we still squint our eyes in unison as if there's an optic plague among us.
Through 8 billion people living on this pathetic excuse of a planet, i would say only half a million people know how to start a fire without matches or a lighter. Im talking about lighting fire by rubbing two sticks together with a patch of grass in between.. since most africans have pilgrimaged from the jungle to the western-culture infested urban areas, 90 per cent of those half a million fire-starters are aboriginals and the 10 per cent is shared across the world...what a damn shame!

Its not about starting fires and what not, but the fact of the matter is that we are evolving as a people globally and i'm starting to get worried here because most of our customs are slowly being obliterated. Its a fear for me because,in essense those customs are the ones which made us stand out (as africans) from the rest of the bunch..

Album of the week..

John legend ft. andre 3000 - Green light

Time is now..

Who gets to decide what time it is or what day of the week it is.the earth keeps rotating around the sun, so in essence there is only one day through out. But we are so fixated on the notion of day and night that it ends up f**kin' with our mindset.
always out there thinkin' "oh man tomorrow is the start of a new week" or "tommorow is the day i hate the most" In reality there aint no tommorrow, just now!! it just gets a bit confusing though when you dig deep into it. It could be friday thoughout for all we know for crying out loud.

very interesting how we adapt to the things we create as a society, like making choices to do certain things only during daylight and certain things during night. Even if you sleep during the day for seven hours, you are not gonna stay up all night, you still gonna fall asleep sometime at night godwilling.

God put a smile on your face..

You ever notice how short weeks are becoming, it always seem like just when you reach home the alarm is already ringing for you to dress up for work again, and you can’t seem to get enough sleep through-out the whole week from all them bootleg movies you been staying up late for..
And what do you do when you get to the weekend? You are nowhere near your apartment, just hanging out with friends, nothin but cobwebs in your bed...and then you have the nerve to complain on Sunday? Negro please…
but on the real though...I kinda ran across a few skits (def comedy jam) by Bernie Mac and a pimp lookin' cat named Alonzo "hamburger" Jones, had me laughin' all day forgot about my troubles for at least a couple of minutes before going to bed with a clear conscience. Laughter is the best placebo for any sickness.

The Necessary Evils..

here's an interesting analogy about the dangers drugs have
brought on poor people..

The Wolf: Excerpt of Speech by Omali Yeshitela

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Drug Economy Imposed on African People

"So InPDUM has exposed this whole question of the drug economy. You got folks who are stuffed into these prisons all around the country who don't even understand why they are there. Many of them think it was their idea that they are there. They don't even understand that a drug economy has been imposed on our community where the legal capitalists deny African People the right to work in the legal capitalist economy. Then these same legal capitalists impose an illegal capitalist economy in the form of the drugs and you can't get a job anywhere else.

I'm told the Native People in the Arctic, in order to kill wolves take a sharp knife, melt the ice, and bury the handle in the ice and let it freeze over with the blade projecting up. They would cover the blade with blood. Wolves would smell the blade and come to try to eat. They would lick the blade. When they licked the blade they would cut their tongues and they would drink their own blood. They really were thinking that they had a lot to eat then, and of course they were drinking their own blood and killing themselves in the process.

That's what imperialism has done to our communities. It takes away the ability for you to live in a normal situation and then they bury a blade in the ice and put some blood on it. you come to lick the blade thinking that you're getting nourishment, and actually what you're doing is killing yourself in the process."

- Excerpt from, "Resistance of African People, Crisis of Imperialism:Why We must Build the National People's Democratic Uhuru Movement", by Omali Yeshitela. Heard on the Dead Prez CD, "Let's Get Free"
got it fromassatashakur.org

Winds of change..

pic is from here

Us as a people are a bunch of hypocrites, always complaining(myself included,Hence my self-loathing). It’s always either too hot or too cold. People are always either too fat or too skinny. Never stopping to realize what’s important (The fact that your ass is still alive and full of sh** because, if you were not you would have been complaining about hunger and not the F***in weather).

Change is a part of life that’s why there are four seasons every year. Years are nowadays moving too fast in my opinion; I don’t know whether it’s just me or I’m just getting old, who knows? I haven’t had the opportunity to get a second opinion from the youngin’s of our time to hear their thoughts on the notion. Most of my generation is stuck in the second youth. It’s like dudes don’t even think of settling down to have a family or move over to adulthood. Somehow I get the feeling that the species of politicians is endangered, nobody wants to be a politician, and it’s from a global perspective. The whole world is increasingly becoming infested with yuppies (Young up-and-coming professionals) who are more determined to have their dream wishes fulfilled instead of wearing suits and thinking of foreign diplomacy in the state-house while spotting a suit, as a politician.
Winds of change are blowing change into society, like amendments to the constitution, things don’t stay the same…
